IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Frequently asked questions
Heritage breeds are the breeds that our forefathers used on their farms. With the industrialization of farms, animals were bred to be bigger, produce more and get to market quicker. One thing that was NOT bred for was flavor. Heritage breeds take longer to grow or don't produce as many eggs as the newer breeds. We are members of the Livestock Conservancy and have dedicated ourselves to keeping the bloodlines of our heritage breeds alive, much like an heirloom seed bank preserves fruit and vegetable species for the future.
